Manhole Cover Cork Trivet-DEN HAAG/THE HAGUE

$25.00

Netherland’s government capital, Den Haag or the anglicized Hague, sits off the western coast along the North Sea. Renowned as a center of Human Rights, the city is the third-largest in the Nederlands. The city was bombed and desecrated by the Nazis leaving many areas open to reconstruction. A new city hall by esteemed American architect Richard Meier was constructed in 1995. This cover sits on the streets surrounding the building and features a stork in flight. The stork is featured on the city’s coat of arms. Fabricated for Aquagate, the cover features the standard Dutch grid and pickpoints at the north and south quadrants.

The perfect gift for housewarmings, and anniversaries each illustration is initially hand-drawn for precision and then permanently etched into cork. The trivets are .375" thick and 7.25" in diameter with rounded edges. The engraving method has incredible detail and tactility. Fabricated from sustainable Portuguese cork. Designed and packaged in Philadelphia, PA USA.
Cork is a natural material, thus rare aberrations within the etching can occur.
