The historic exclave of Dubrovnik is a Unesco World Heritage site that is connected to the mainland by the Pelješac Bridge. The Unesco designation is based in part on its extraordinarily intact Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Despite earthquakes and civil war, the city guards and maintains its built legacy as it has become a major tourist attraction and a site for fantasy-based filming. Indeed, the Pearl of the Adriatic was the host to the famous Game of Thrones episode entitled Mother’s Mercy where the character Cercei Lannister made her walk of shame. She undoubtedly staggered past this cover which is adapted from a square version. On the cover a rotated grid with pickpoint pulls at the north and south quadrants is broken by an identification ring. In that ring, the words for the city’s water system are made clear. Centrally, an added city seal lends a regal refinement that a city such as this demands.

The perfect gift for housewarmings, and anniversaries each illustration is initially hand-drawn for precision and then permanently etched into cork. The trivets are .375" thick and 7.25" in diameter with rounded edges. The engraving method has incredible detail and tactility. Fabricated from sustainable Portuguese cork. Designed and packaged in Philadelphia, PA USA.
Cork is a natural material, thus rare aberrations within the etching can occur.
As each one is made to order please allow three business days for delivery.
