Boston, or informally Beantown, is the capital of Massachusetts and the city where the Revolution began. As one of America’s oldest cities, Boston is full of history. Some of that history is cast in iron and etched here in all its glory. The Boston Elevated Railway lasted from 1901 to 2004 and eventually succumbed to the T below ground and the valuable real estate above ground. Cars make their way through the Artery Tunnel, also known as the Big Dig, which took from inception in 1987 to completion in 2007.
